4.6. Water pump


The water pump – the 4-cylinder engine

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the water pump is faulty, it needs to be replaced immediately, otherwise the engine can sustain serious damage because of an overheat.
2. Warm the engine up to the normal working temperature and press a hand the top hose of a radiator. If the pump works normally, then you have to feel the liquid pressure when you release a hose.
3. The water pump is equipped with filtrational openings. If laying of the pump wears out, then liquid will begin to flow from these openings.
4. If the bearing of a shaft of the pump becomes useless, then in a forward part of the engine the whistling sound will be heard.

Removal and installation

4-CYLINDER ENGINE

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator.
2. Take off a gas-distributing belt and intermediate pulleys of a belt.
3. Remove an adjusting plate (it is specified by an arrow) the generator. Remove the compressor of air conditioning system and shift it aside, without disconnecting from it hoses. Disconnect the lower hose of a radiator.
4. Unscrew bolts of the water pump. Remove the pump and its laying.
5. Disconnect a roundabout hose, unscrew two nuts and pick up the heating system phone.
6. Carefully clean the joined surfaces of the pump.
7. Establish new laying and sealing rings, install the pump.
8. Establish the bolts specified in the drawing.
9. Tighten three more bolts in the specified sequence.
10. Establish the remained details.

6-CYLINDER ENGINE
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator and merge cooling liquid.
2. Take off a gas-distributing belt and asterisks of camshafts.
3. Unscrew the bolt fixing an inlet tube to the generator regulator. Pick up the inlet phone and the thermostat. Disconnect a plait of wires from clamps (are specified by shooters), shift a plait and remove a back cover of a gas-distributing belt.
4. Unscrew one of long cores of the pump to remove the pump (it is specified by an arrow).
5. Carefully clean the joined surfaces of the pump.
6. Establish new laying (it is specified by an arrow). Install the pump and tighten pump bolts.
