9.3. Half shafts

Half shafts of different length (the right half shaft is longer and it is supplied with an average support with the bearing). The external shlitsevy termination of half shafts is included into a nave and fastens nuts.

Hinges of half shafts are closed by covers which condition should be checked periodically. The worn-out cover is subject to immediate replacement for what the half shaft should be removed.

Prevention

In the spare part "cutting" covers at which installation removal of a half shaft is not required, nevertheless, are also delivered after damage of a cover the half shaft should be removed for check of a state, cleaning and lubricant of hinges.

Signs of wear of hinges is the increased noise (clicks) at turn, ringing knocks at inclusion of transfer after the movement by a setup, and also the raised rumble at a high speed of the movement.
