10.4. Blocks of disk brakes

Prevention

Blocks change only in a set on one axis. When cleaning blocks to delete dust and dirt with wiping by the rags moistened in alcohol or special liquid it is forbidden to blow. The considered procedure is applicable to blocks of back and forward brakes.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off a stopper of a nutritious tank of brakes.
2. Release nuts of wheels, lift the car (a forward or back part) and establish on supports.
3. Remove wheels.
4. Attentively check a condition of a disk (see subsection 10.6.). In need of grinding or replacement remove a disk and blocks.
5. Drown pistons in cylinders to establish new blocks. If necessary use a clamp. In process of a piston utaplivaniye liquid level in a tank will increase. Remove excess of liquid, having sucked away the syringe.
6. Before work clear brake details special structure.
7. Turn off the bolts specified by the top and lower arrows (to turn off a bolt of the union of a hose only if the support is removed from the car).
8. Remove a support.
9. Fix a support by a wire, without allowing sagging on a hose.
10. Remove the top antinoise spring of blocks (on 4-cylinder models).
11. Remove the lower antinoise spring of blocks (on 4-cylinder models).
12. Remove external and internal antinoise plates from an external block.
13. Remove an external block.
14. Remove external and internal antinoise plates from an internal block.
15. Remove an internal block.
16. Remove clamps of blocks, check their state and if necessary replace (clamps have to be latched in nests support arms, at detection of deformations or weakening of landing replace clamps).
17. Hook and remove the index of wear from an internal block and rearrange the index on a new block. At detection of damages replace the indicator.
18. Establish a block clamp, a new internal block and antinoise plates. Track that ears of antinoise plates came into grooves on clamps of blocks.
19. Establish a block clamp, a new external block and antinoise plates.
20. Establish the top and lower antinoise springs of blocks (on 4-cylinder models), track that springs entered gearing with blocks.
21. Get the top and lower fingers of a block and clear them (replace the damaged rubber cover, having hooked a fillet on the metal plug).
22. Then grease a finger with refractory lubricant and establish into place.
23. Establish a support and tighten bolts with the set moment.
24. Before replacement of back disk brakes clear brake details.
25. Turn off a bolt of fastening of a support (it is specified by the lower arrow), a hose union bolt (the top arrow) to turn off only if the support is removed from the car.
26. Cast away a support and fix.
27. Remove an external and internal antinoise plate from an external block.
28. Remove an external block.
29. Remove an external and internal antinoise plate from an internal block.
30. Remove an internal block.
31. Remove clamps of blocks, check their state and if necessary replace (clamps have to be latched in support arm nests, at detection of deformations or weakening of landing replace clamps).
32. Establish a block clamp, a new internal block and antinoise plates. Track that antinoise plates entered gearing with blocks and with each other.
33. Establish block clamps, a new external block and antinoise plates. Track that antinoise plates entered gearing with an external block with each other.
34. Lower a support, having put on it new blocks. Tighten a bolt with the set moment.

35. Upon termination of assembly several times press a brake pedal to reduce blocks with a disk. Check liquid level, if necessary add. Check work of brakes.
