10.6. Brake disk

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Release nuts of wheels, lift the car and establish on supports. Remove wheels and wrap nuts of wheels into place to record a disk concerning a nave (to provide application of effort to a disk it is possible to dress washers). Release the parking brake (when working on a back brake).
2. Remove a support (see subsection 10.5.), take aside and fix. Turn off bolts and remove a support arm.
3. Check a condition of a disk on both sides. At detection of traces of deep development (depth more than 1,0 mm), remove a disk and a proshlifuyta. If when braking pulsations were noted, then the raised disk beating can be the cause. In the drawing – a disk with traces from the slips which are worn out to rivets. Replace a disk with such defects.
4. Check a beating, having installed the arrow indicator in 13 mm from edge of a disk. If the beating on the indicator exceeds norm, then remove a disk and a proshlifuyta in car service.

Prevention

The disk is recommended to be removed and ground periodically irrespective of indications of the indicator. At least it can be made by hand a small skin to reduce a roughness.

5. After grinding thickness of a disk should not be less maximum permissible which is cast on a disk. The minimum thickness is specified on disk inside, near the place of fastening to a nave.
6. Measure disk thickness in several places.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off wheel bolts which temporarily fixed a disk, and remove a disk.
2. If the disk of a back brake does not give in to removal, then turn off a cap, enter the screw-driver (the opening has to be at the very bottom) into an opening and rotating the regulator, take away blocks of the parking brake from a disk drum from the inside.
3. Rotating the regulator, take away blocks of the parking brake from a disk drum (front view).

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a back disk on hairpins.
2. Establish an arm of a support and delay all fastenings with the set moment.
3. Establish a support and tighten fastening bolts. If the hose of a brake was not disconnected, then it is not necessary to pump over brakes.
4. Finalize a wheel, tighten nuts after lowering of the car. After assembly press several times a brake pedal. Check work of brakes.
